Watch: Charles Leclerc emerges as favorite as ATP stars including Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner rank F1 players on their list of favorites
John David Mercer-USA TODAY Sports

Top ATP stars including Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner were asked to rate a few F1 players and Charles Leclerc ‘s name emerged as the most common among all. While Max Verstappen and Lewis Hamilton also found their place on the list of few players, the Ferrari driver had an edge with Sinner and Andrey Rublev keeping him at the top.

Meanwhile, Alcaraz had Fernando Alonso as his best player. Hubert Hurkacz kept Max Verstappen above everyone else. The Polish ace had Lewis Hamilton on the second spot with Leclerc right behind the British F1 star. He named Alonso and Lando Norris in the fourth and fifth positions respectively.

Talking about Alcaraz’s remaining four players, the Spaniard kept Hamilton at 2nd, Verstappen at 3rd, Leclerc at 4th and Norris at 5th. Sinner had Hamilton at the 2nd position followed by Verstappen at 3rd, Alosno at 4th and Norris at 5th.

Meanwhile, Rublev followed suit as the Russian as he named Hamilton at 2nd, Verstappen at 3rd, Alonso at 4th, and Norris at 5th. The video of this fun game was shared by the ATP Tour’s social media account.

Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner plagued by injuries

Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner seemed to have a lot of fun naming their favorite F1 players. However, they are going through a tough time on the court. Both the superstars are down and out with injuries. While Alcaraz is nursing a forearm injury, Sinner has been troubled by a hip injury that even led to him pulling out of the Madrid Open.

The switch from hard court to clay has not been easy for the players as quite a few names have been injured. Daniil Medvedev also got included in the list as he retired midway through his match against Jiri Lehecka. All these players are not risking themselves by continuing on the tour with the French Open approaching.

The 2024 Paris Olympics is also one of the reasons for these players trying to stay in the best shape as they eye for ultimate glory. Both Alcaraz and Sinner will be eyeing that gold medal and hence have decided to give themselves some rest. Alcaraz has already pulled out of the Italian Open and it is to be seen if Sinner opts to do that as well.
