Knicks enter matchup vs. Raptors as heaviest road favorites in 31 years

The New York Knicks enter their Wednesday night contest against the Toronto Raptors as the largest road favorites they've been in over 31 years.

The Knicks defeated the Dallas Mavericks, 107-93, on Jan. 15, 1993, behind 16 points and nine rebounds from Patrick Ewing to improve to 21-13.

The Mavericks fell to an atrocious 2-29 after the defeat in a season in which they finished a franchise-worst 11-71.

New York ended the 1992-93 campaign tied for their franchise-best mark at 60-22 and made it to the Eastern Conference Finals.

The Knicks come into Wednesday's action in fourth place in the Eastern Conference at 43-28 and having already clinched a playoff berth with 11 games left in their regular season. They've been one of the hottest teams in the conference recently, having won six of their last seven contests.

The Raptors, meanwhile, are on a league-worst 11-game losing streak that has dropped them to 23-49 and 12th in the East.

New York has played well on the road this season, going 19-15, while Toronto is just 13-23 at home.

The Knicks have already defeated the Raptors in all three head-to-head matchups this campaign, including a 126-100 rout in their last meeting in January.

New York is still without three-time All-Star forward Julius Randle due to a shoulder injury and small forward OG Anunoby (traded from Toronto in December) because of an elbow ailment. Starting center Mitchell Robinson has been upgraded to questionable as he recovers from an ankle issue.

Toronto has a lengthy injury report, including a host of players who've already been ruled out for Wednesday's action. Among them are All-Star Scottie Barnes (hand injury) and former Knicks RJ Barrett and Immanuel Quickley, who are both out due to personal reasons.
