New York Giants Activate RB Eric Gray from IR

The New York Giants have activated rookie running back Eric Gray off the injured reserve list.

Gray, who suffered a calf injury earlier in the year, has not played since Week 7. His 21-day window was opened on Wednesday, with head coach Brian Daboll expressing confidence in Gray's return to fill the open roster spot on the 53-man roster.

It's unclear how much of a role Gray might have if he gets a game-day uniform. He had previously handled kickoff and punt return duties, but those have since been taken over by Parris Campbell and Gunner Olszewski, respectively.

Gray has 13 rushing attempts for 27 yards in seven games, most of that production coming in Week 5 at Miami.

The Giants did not make any standard practice squad elevation moves ahead of their home game against New England.
