Chad Gable turns against Sami Zayn on WWE Raw

Chad Gable has turned on Sami Zayn.

After Zayn defeated Gable in the main event of WWE Raw, Gable raised Zayn’s hand and left the ring as Zayn celebrated his win in his home city of Montreal. As he was hugging his wife at ringside, however, Gable took him down from behind with a German suplex and continued to attack Zayn. Raw came to a close as Gable had Zayn’s leg wrapped up in the turnbuckle, clinching in an ankle lock.

In the build to WrestleMania 40, Gable offered to train Zayn in his match against Gunther after Zayn defeated Gable in a gauntlet match to become the number one contender. At WrestleMania, Zayn ended Gunther’s historic run with the Intercontinental title, pinning him to become the new champion. On the Raw after WrestleMania, Zayn and Gable teamed up to defeat Ludwig Kaiser & Giovanni Vinci of Imperium.

Following their match, Zayn acknowledged that he owed Gable and said he would defend his title against Gable in Montreal.
